Tottenham has extended the contract of Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, as reported on the club’s official website.

While the specific length of the new deal has not been disclosed, it is clarified that it will be a long-term agreement. Bentancur’s previous contract with Tottenham was set to expire in June 2026.

“I feel very well and I’m thrilled to continue my journey with this amazing club. My family is happy, and I have wonderful friends and teammates who work hard every day. I love this club and I feel very comfortable here.

Winning the Europa League was a fantastic moment, and we aim to build on that success and win even more trophies. We have a new head coach and a new captain, and I want to spend many more years at the club,” said the 28-year-old player.

Bentancur joined Tottenham from Juventus in January 2022. Since then, he has made 122 appearances for the English side, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists. Last season, the Uruguayan celebrated his first trophy with Spurs by winning the Europa League.
