The 37-year-old UFC Hall of Famer and former lightweight champion from Russia, **Khabib Nurmagomedov**, shared his thoughts on what makes his teammate and former UFC lightweight champion **Islam Makhachev** a distinctive fighter.

“I believe he is disciplined and has a genuine passion for competition. Some people have that drive, while others do not. Islam loves to compete. His enthusiasm for competition and discipline are the key elements that motivate him,” Nurmagomedov said during a fan event at the Mecca Center in Chicago.

Makhachev boasts an impressive professional record with 27 victories, 18 of which have come by way of knockout or submission, and just one loss. Currently, he is on a 15-fight winning streak. He made his professional debut in August 2010.
