Lionsgate Studio has released the first trailer for the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel “The Long Walk.” The thriller is set to premiere in theaters on **September 12**, including in Russia.

The story, originally published in 1979, is set in a near-future America. Each year, a brutal event known as “The Long Walk” takes place, forcing participants to compete for survival. A hundred young contestants must keep moving forward without stopping, fighting for their lives. The survivor is rewarded with a hefty cash prize, while the others face death.

The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, renowned for his work on “Constantine” and “The Hunger Games.” The leading roles feature Mark Hamill (“Star Wars: A New Hope”), Garrett Hedlund (“Manifest”), and Judy Greer (“What Women Want”).
