Former midfielder of several RPL clubs, **[Maxim Demenko](https://example.com)**, shared his thoughts on the situation at the Moscow region club “Khimki,” which reportedly has salary arrears to its players.
“Khimki finds itself in a difficult position since the players have not received their salaries and have started organizing a boycott. Then, Aalaev (the president of the RPL) arrives, doing his utmost to ensure the team completes the season. Regardless, the players of ‘Khimki’ have no choice but to continue playing, even when they aren’t being paid. I experienced something similar when I was with ‘Zhemchuzhina,’ which was declaring bankruptcy. All the guys fought until the last match. Our manager was Stanislav Salamovich Cherchesov. Nevertheless, it was a tough situation because everyone has families and children to care for. But it’s their job, and some players might have the chance to move on. They have to step onto the pitch and play,” Demenko stated in an interview with Championship reporter Vladislav Kruglov.
Currently, “Khimki” is in 12th place in the RPL standings with 23 points.
