North London Man Arrested for Disturbing Attacks on Synagogues and Community Spaces

A man from North London has been taken into custody on the grounds of alleged religiously motivated vandalism, linked to a series of attacks on synagogues and a nursery, according to the Metropolitan Police.

The 37-year-old suspect was apprehended in the Hendon area for connection to seven separate incidents and is currently being held as investigations proceed.

On Thursday, the police reported that a substance had been smeared on four synagogues and a private home.

Additional incidents, described by authorities as “disgusting and shocking,” included liquid being thrown at a school and splashed on a vehicle. Reports suggest that the substance used in these attacks was bodily fluids.

Community security organization Shomrim and The Jewish News confirmed that some sites had been vandalized with feces.

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams remarked that the arrest marks “a significant advancement in our inquiry, following extensive review of CCTV footage by our officers.”

He also stated, “We are maintaining close communication with the local Jewish community as we continue to offer our support and reassurance.”
