Former defender of Moscow’s Spartak, **Vladimir Granat**, shared his thoughts on the potential transfer of forward **Anton Zabolotny** to the red-and-white club.
“Perhaps, with Zabolotny, Stankovic is looking to sign a big striker for Spartak. Every team needs such a forward. It’s also crucial that the coach is bringing in a player who fits well into the squad. He meets all the necessary characteristics: he’s Russian, physically imposing, and the transfer is financially viable. It’s quite possible that this deal may face criticism, considering that Zabolotny is a graduate of CSKA. However, ultimately, his performance on the pitch will be what matters. If he plays well, Anton could silence his critics. On the other hand, if things don’t work out, the focus will shift to the scouting department of Spartak or the head coach,” Granat said in an interview with Championship correspondent Vladislav Kruglov.
In the last season, Anton Zabolotny played for the Moscow region team Himik. Throughout the 2024/2025 season, the 34-year-old forward scored six goals and provided six assists in 29 matches in the Russian Premier League.
