Sennikov: Zenit Lacks Cohesion, Players Focus on Individual Play

Former Russian football player Dmitry Sennikov stated that Zenit is currently an uncoordinated team and pointed out that the players have shifted towards more individual play.

“Zenit plays from a position of strength, but in some areas, the team lacks speed. In my opinion, Zenit can ramp up their pace, as seen in the match against Orenburg. However, for some reason, in other games, either the opponent doesn’t allow them to do this, or Zenit’s players believe they can win through sheer strength and experience. But that approach isn’t working. Right now, Zenit is an uncoordinated team. The players are taking on more responsibility and playing individually, whereas there used to be a greater emphasis on teamwork. That’s when they achieved better results. Now, each player is trying to create something on their own,” Sennikov told Championship correspondent Vladislav Kruglov.
