Russian Nordic Combined Athlete Artem Galunin Receives Neutral Status from FIS

A 26-year-old Russian Nordic combined athlete, **Artyom Galunin**, has been granted neutral status by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), allowing him to compete in international competitions.

Today, December 12, FIS updated its list of neutral athletes. Among the Russian representatives included are skiers Saveliy Korostelyov and Daria Nepryayeva, freestyle skier Anastasia Tatalina, and Nordic combined athlete Artyom Galunin, along with Korostelyov’s service technician Evgeniy Uftikov.

Galunin hails from Nizhny Novgorod and participated in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where he finished in 39th and 42nd places.

It is worth noting that in early December, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturned FIS’s ban on Russian athletes.
