Russian Figure Skater Lidia Pleskacheva Cleared for Triple Jumps Just Two Weeks Before Grand Prix in Moscow

Russian figure skater **Lydia Pleskacheva** has announced that she was granted permission to perform triple jumps just two weeks before the start of the fifth stage of the Junior Grand Prix of Russia 2025/2026 in Moscow. The athlete had been recovering from an injury prior to this. Today, November 12, she won the short program at the competition in the capital.

“I hadn’t skated for a month, maybe a little longer. It was tough, but I managed to cope. Not everything is fully restored yet, but I’m doing my best.

I really love the short program; it showcases a different side of me. It was choreographed by Nadezhda Kanaeva. The process was productive, and I was surprised by the music choice since I wanted to skate to something like that. Overall, I enjoyed the music selection and was pleased.

How do I feel after returning? I need to build my strength. I’m recovering and everything is going well. I stepped onto the ice again after a month and a half of being off. I was off for five weeks, then I was allowed to glide. I glided for two weeks before I began to jump singles. Just two weeks ago, I got the go-ahead for triples.

It was very disappointing and frustrating. I had thoughts that I might not be able to compete in the Grand Prix stages. The recovery took its course, and I calmed down a bit,” Pleskacheva said in her comments reported by Championship correspondent Anastasia Ratskevich.
