The renowned English footballer Rio Ferdinand shared his thoughts on the Russian fighter, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

On his social media, Rio posted a photo from an interview he conducted with the Russian fighter in Dubai during the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony.

“Among the greats,” Rio Ferdinand captioned the photo.

Throughout his career in mixed martial arts, Nurmagomedov competed in 29 fights, achieving victory in all of them. Out of these wins, 13 were in the UFC. His final bout was against American Justin Gaethje, which took place in October 2020 at the UFC 254 event. The Russian secured his victory by applying a triangle choke in the second round.
