The festive spirit in west London is poised to amplify on Monday as party-goers flock to the Notting Hill Carnival for its second day of celebrations.
On Sunday, the streets were filled with vibrant costumes, lively dance, and music as Europe’s largest street celebration held its children’s day; this excitement is set to carry on with the main parade on Monday.
Having celebrated Caribbean culture and heritage for over five decades, the carnival is a cherished tradition.
Carnival attendee Jeff Sam, age 74, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We’re here to have a great time, and we know it’s going to be an incredible day, beyond anything you’ve ever imagined in your life.
“You’ll witness Brazilian bands, Caribbean performers, and musicians from all corners of the globe, all dressed in stunning costumes.”
Attendance for the event is anticipated to exceed one million people.
