The Minister of Sports and head of the Russian Olympic Committee, **Mikhail Degtyarev**, announced that the ROC will file a lawsuit against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) if sanctions against Russian sports are not lifted after **Kirsty Coventry** assumes office.

It has been clarified that the relevant lawsuits have already been prepared, according to “RIA Novosti Sport.”

It is worth mentioning that Kirsty Coventry was elected president of the IOC on March 20. She is set to succeed Thomas Bach as head of the organization on June 23.

Earlier, Dmitry Chernyshenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government, expressed his views on the return of Russian athletes to the Olympic Games. He emphasized the importance of the actions of IOC President Kirsty Coventry in this matter.
