Match Fixing in Russian Football: Insider Revelations on Corruption and Control

Football expert **[Alexander Bubnov](http://example.com/tags/7968-aleksandr-bubnov/)** shared insights on how match-fixing occurs in Russia. According to Bubnov, he received this information from someone he didn’t name, but who is knowledgeable about the subject.

“I had a conversation yesterday with a certain individual. We ended up discussing fixed matches, and this person is very knowledgeable, you see? I’ll go further to say they’re from the refereeing community. As we talked, I started explaining the various methods that can be used to orchestrate a fixed game. I told him, ‘I get the feeling that in the Premier League, when it comes to fixed matches — they don’t seem to be playing fair at all.’

He replied, ‘Are you out of your mind?’ I asked, ‘What do you mean?’ He explained, ‘It’s the referees. The referees and VAR control everything. There’s no need for negotiations or anything like that. They’ve been paid off, and that’s it.’ This is just one perspective, but it comes from someone who is well-informed,” Bubnov mentioned in a recent episode of the YouTube channel “Comment.Show.”
