Kirilenko Expresses Concern Over French Courts Decision to Extradite Kasatkin to the U.S.

The President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RFB), **Andrei Kirilenko**, has responded to the French court’s decision to extradite Russian basketball player **Daniil Kasatkin** to the United States. The athlete faces a potential sentence of up to 25 years for charges related to computer fraud.

“This news is, of course, quite distressing. We are very concerned about Daniil and hope for a favorable resolution. Unfortunately, we do not have any details; we find out about the situation just like everyone else through the news.

As soon as this occurred, we reached out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and they informed us that they are already addressing the issue. If any assistance or support from us is needed, they will let us know. We are prepared to offer any help we can.

In this situation, our focus is on supporting Daniil and hoping for a positive outcome,” Kirilenko stated in an interview with **Championat** correspondent Alexander Zoteyev.

For reference, Daniil was detained on June 21, 2025, at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport at the request of the United States, where he had arrived with his fiancée. He is suspected of being involved in a hacking group, but he denies the charges.
