“Yekaterinburg, located at the heart of the Ural region, embodies three essential elements: natural resources, industrial leadership, and cultural heritage. The city has long been recognized as a center for gemstone mining and copper ore extraction. Yekaterinburg is also known as the birthplace of the writer Pavel Bazhov, whose tales have introduced the world to the unique imagery of the Ural Mountains, malachite, and the mystical powers of the earth.
The logo incorporates several symbols representing the event’s location, reflected in its design, shape, and colors. One of the primary references, highlighting the connection to the region’s landscape, is the silhouette of mountains depicted in a graphic style. The hexagonal shape signifies the cut of Ural gemstones, particularly emeralds: Sverdlovsk Oblast is the only area in Russia where these precious stones are mined. The color palette—malachite green, coppery-orange, and black—symbolizes the natural wealth of the region along with its industrial significance (copper being a key resource in the Urals). Furthermore, the coppery-orange hue also relates to the visual identity of the UGMK Arena,” as stated on the official KHL website.
