Actor and wrestler Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, may be making a return to his role in the adventurous “Mummy” franchise, according to a report by The Direct, citing insider Daniel Richtman.

Universal Studios is optimistic that Dwayne Johnson’s return as the Scorpion King will help boost the ratings for “The Mummy,” especially since recent installments and reboots have not fared well with audiences. The creators are hoping for at least a cameo appearance from The Rock in “The Mummy 4.”

Johnson portrayed the Scorpion King in “The Mummy Returns” (2001) and “The Scorpion King.” The latest version of “The Mummy,” released in 2017, earned just over $400 million, and plans for “The Mummy 4” are currently underway.
