Andrey Olkhovsky: Rublevs Potential Shines Bright Ahead of Australian Open

The champion of the 1994 Australian Open and the 1993 French Open in mixed doubles, **Andrey Olkhovskiy**, shared his thoughts on Russian player **Andrey Rublev’s** performance at the ATP-250 tournament in Hong Kong, prior to the Australian Open. In the semifinals in Hong Kong, Rublev lost to Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti, who is currently ranked seventh in the world, with a score of 7:6 (7:3), 5:7, 4:6.

“Ondrey has been playing well in his recent matches. His match against Musetti was incredibly exciting. Lorenzo displayed remarkable tennis at the crucial moments. Rublev was at 4:5 and 15:40, and Musetti brilliantly saved those points with such freedom and speed. I appreciated the performance of both players. I don’t believe Rublev’s loss should cast a shadow over his abilities. It’s disappointing to lose, but there’s potential for a strong showing at the Australian Open,” Olkhovskiy remarked during a conversation with Championship correspondent Yegor Kabakov.
