After the Knockdowns: Albert Batyrgaziev Reflects on His Fight with Neri Romero

The interim WBA champion in the super featherweight division (up to 59 kg) from Russia, **Albert Batyrgaziev**, recently shared his thoughts on the knockdowns he experienced during his match against Argentine fighter **Neri Romero**. Their bout took place on March 7 in Moscow, where the Russian athlete secured victory by unanimous decision.

“It was a flash knockdown. I didn’t even realize what had happened. I wouldn’t say I was overwhelmed or that I needed time to recover. This is boxing. My thoughts were on getting revenge, to deliver a knockdown in return. Ideally, I wanted to finish the fight early. I aimed to secure a stoppage, but it didn’t happen. My opponent was very tough and managed to withstand all 12 rounds. However, this led to a bright and exciting fight,” Albert Batyrgaziev told **Championat** correspondent Sergey Sorokin.
