The court has been informed that two women, reportedly murdered by the same individual five months apart, were discovered in strikingly similar circumstances.
These revelations came to light as Simon Levy, 40, from Beaufoy Road in Tottenham, north London, made a remote appearance via video link at the Old Bailey.
Levy is charged with the murder of 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins, whose lifeless body was found on the High Road in Tottenham on August 24, as well as the murder of 53-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, who was found deceased at a location in Walworth, south-east London, on March 17.
During the proceedings, Mr. Levy only confirmed his identity and date of birth.
Prosecutor Tom Little KC outlined the details, noting that Ms. Valencia-Trujillo was “discovered in the early evening of March 17 in a largely abandoned block of flats that sees few residents or passersby, aside from an occasional security officer monitoring the premises for safety.”
He remarked, “The position in which her body was discovered is similar to that of the other homicide.”
Additionally, Mr. Levy faces charges of intentional grievous bodily harm, non-fatal suffocation, and two counts of rape concerning another woman, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions, in High Road, Tottenham, on January 21.
Judge Mark Lucraft KC placed Mr. Levy in custody until the next hearing scheduled for February 23, with his trial set to commence in June.
On Monday, the Metropolitan Police made a public appeal for anyone who may have information to assist with the investigation, or who has yet to report incidents they have experienced, to reach out.
