Manny Pacquiao Takes on the Role of Vice President of IBA

Former world champion in six weight categories, Filipino boxer **[Manny Pacquiao](https://www.boxingfederation.com/manny-pacquiao)**, has been appointed as the vice president of the International Boxing Association (**[IBA](https://www.boxingfederation.com/iba)**). This announcement was made by the organization’s press service.

Pacquiao’s appointment was confirmed at the IBA board meeting held today, October 27, in Manila, Philippines.

“Under the inspiring leadership of President Umar Kremlov, the IBA has entered a Golden Era — a time when every boxer, regardless of their country or skill level, can dream, strive, and succeed equally. I am proud to be part of this mission, ensuring that no young athlete goes unsupported, that no champion is forgotten, and that no nation feels excluded. As vice president of the IBA, I aim to create bridges — between amateurs and professionals, between the East and West, and across generations and cultures. I firmly believe that boxing has the power to unite people in ways that politics cannot. Boxing transforms lives, inspires communities, and brings peace to areas previously marked by division,” Pacquiao said, as quoted by the Russian Boxing Federation.
