From White Suits to Championships: Rio Ferdinand Reflects on 23 Years Since Joining Manchester United

English defender Rio Ferdinand reminisced about signing his contract with Manchester United exactly 23 years ago.

“On this day in 2002, I joined the greatest club in the world — Manchester United! I wore a white suit… I must say, I have never looked better! It was 23 years ago… time flies,” Ferdinand posted on July 22 on his social media account X, along with photos from the signing day.

At 46 years old, Ferdinand played for Manchester United from 2002 to 2014, appearing in 455 matches, scoring eight goals, and providing eight assists. During his time with the Manchester club, he became a six-time Premier League champion, a winner of the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup, a two-time League Cup champion, and a four-time winner of the Community Shield.
