Authorities received a call at 14:08 (BST) on April 12 regarding the unearthing of the remains on Church Grove in Lewisham. A crime scene has been established and remains active.

Investigators are currently attempting to identify the remains, which are believed to be not from a recent period, according to the Met.

No arrests have been made, and investigations continue.
