Winning Requires a Touch of Luck: Tallon Grikspor Reflects on Encounter with Jannik Sinner in Shanghai

The 31st-ranked tennis player from the Netherlands, Talllon Griekspoor, commented on his match against world number two, Italian Jannik Sinner, in the third round of the Masters event in Shanghai, China. Sinner withdrew while the score was 7:6 (7:3), 5:7, 2:3.

“Certainly, this isn’t the way I would prefer to claim a victory, especially after what I think were two very well-played sets from both sides. The first set showcased a high level of play, with strong serving from both. I believe he played an incredible tiebreak, hitting a couple of shots right on the line and serving excellently. I was a bit fortunate at 3-4 in the second set when I saved three break points and managed to hold my serve. Sometimes, a little luck is necessary to win matches like this,” Griekspoor stated, as quoted by Punto de Break.
