“When it comes to naming the best Russian player throughout NHL history, I would choose Sergei Fedorov. He is simply the best. I believe he represents the quintessential versatile center forward. Sergei excelled in both offensive and defensive play. Fedorov was frequently recognized as the best during his era. The top defenseman is Vladimir Konstantinov, and the best goaltender is Sergei Bobrovsky.

I think it’s somewhat inappropriate to compare today’s young NHL players with legends of the past. Hockey as a whole has evolved. We played two decades ago, and the game has changed since then. Today’s young players showcase their own style of play, while we had a different approach. It’s difficult to make direct comparisons,” Kamensky told “Soviet Sport.”
