Ukrainian Drone Strikes Leave 16 Injured in Belgorod, Regional Officials Report

A series of drone strikes carried out by Ukraine in the Belgorod region within the last 24 hours resulted in injuries to at least 16 individuals, according to regional officials on Wednesday morning.

Among those hurt were a doctor and a paramedic, as noted by Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in a Telegram post. He mentioned that eight of the injured required hospitalization.

In response, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that its military had intercepted and destroyed 12 Ukrainian drones overnight, with three of them being over the Belgorod region. However, the ministry did not disclose how many drones were launched by Ukraine in total.

There was no prompt response from Ukrainian officials regarding the situation.

These drone strikes on Tuesday coincided with reports from authorities in the nearby Kursk region, who stated that the body of an Uzbek national had been discovered beneath the ruins of a hotel believed to have been hit by a Ukrainian missile over the weekend. Several others were reported injured in that incident, according to local officials.

Reporting by Reuters was also included.
