Uhtas Coach Reflects on Setback: Lessons from the Finals

The head coach of Uhta, Vadim Yashin, reflected on the fifth match of the final series of the Russian Championship 2024/2025 in futsal against Gazprom-Ugra, which ended in a 2-7 defeat.

“Most likely, we burned out, and the opponent was better prepared for this particular match. Why we weren’t ready, I don’t know. We played based on old strategies, those that worked in Yugorsk. Today, that wasn’t enough. Also, we probably needed to start the game more focused and aggressive. We lost justly, in every respect. However, this is just one match. We lead the series 3-2. Now we are heading to Yugorsk, and we will try to perform differently there,” said Yashin, as reported by the Super League press service.

The sixth match of the best-of-seven series will take place on June 24. In the semifinals, Uhta defeated Tyumen with a score of 3-0, while Gazprom-Ugra triumphed over KPRF with the same score. KPRF secured the bronze medal in the Russian Championship by winning the third-place series against Tyumen, 3-1.
