A 15-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in a street in north London.
The Metropolitan Police, which has initiated a murder inquiry, reported that they were summoned to Westbourne Road in Islington around 1:00 PM GMT.
Emergency paramedics attempted to assist the boy, who had sustained a stab wound, but he succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon in hospital. His family has been notified and is receiving support from dedicated officers.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart stated that “urgent investigations” are currently in progress, with a police cordon established around Atlas Mews, Westbourne Road, and Arundel Square.
Ch Supt Stewart expressed, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends during this profoundly sad and challenging time.
“We recognize this incident raises significant concern within the community, especially given the victim’s young age.
“I encourage anyone who witnessed the event or has information to reach out to us or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”
