A double shooting in south London has resulted in one man’s death and another sustaining injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Emergency responders discovered the two victims, aged 20 and 27, suffering from gunshot injuries on New Park Road in Clapham around 9:00 PM BST on Monday evening.

While the 27-year-old succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, the 20-year-old is receiving treatment for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

In response to the incident, Scotland Yard has launched a murder investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is overseeing the inquiry, stated, “My team is working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate loss of life.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly challenging time; they are currently receiving assistance from specialist officers.

“A crime scene has been established, and local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area while we conduct our investigation.

“We encourage anyone in the vicinity of New Park Road to review any doorbell or surveillance camera footage and to share any relevant information with the police.”
