A 15-year-old boy who was discovered deceased after swimming in a lake in southeast London has been identified as Izaiah Smith.

His body was located in Beckenham Place Park in Beckenham around 22:40 BST on Friday, following efforts by specialized dive teams.

The Metropolitan Police have indicated that his death is considered “unexpected,” though it is not deemed suspicious.

Family members of the victim have been notified and are receiving assistance from dedicated officers.
