The English club “Tottenham” has announced on its official website the signing of defender Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale. The Japan national team player has agreed to a contract with the Spurs that will run until 2030.

The 20-year-old Takai is a product of the Kawasaki Frontale academy. He made his first-team debut in April 2022 at the age of 17. Since then, the defender has played 81 matches for the club across all competitions, scoring four goals, and last season he helped his team reach the final of the AFC Champions League. In September 2024, he earned his first cap for the Japan national team and has since played four matches for his country.

According to the online portal Transfermarkt, Takai’s market value is estimated at €2.5 million.
