The 28-year-old undefeated UFC lightweight champion, the Spanish-Georgian fighter **Ilya Topuria**, offered his support to fellow Georgian **Merab Dvalishvili** following his defeat to Russian fighter **Petr Yan** at UFC 323, which took place on the night of December 6-7 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Brother, life is full of unexpected twists, but you will always be the best in our eyes. You’ll come back even stronger,” Topuria wrote.

The match went the full five rounds, ending with Petr Yan winning by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47). The Russian fighter reclaimed his championship belt.

Merab Dvalishvili has a record of 20 wins and 5 losses, and prior to this fight, he was on a 14-fight winning streak.
