A series of life-sized turtle sculptures have been installed throughout central London to promote awareness of marine conservation issues.

The Tusk Turtle Trail guides participants to 16 different sites, including popular spots like Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, and the observation deck at The Shard.

Tusk, an African wildlife conservation charity, collaborated with several celebrities to create these street art pieces, including Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and Dragons’ Den investors Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett.

The trail showcases narratives that emphasize the importance of protecting our oceans.

Meaden remarked, “We encounter wildlife on land that evokes an emotional response: it’s visible, tangible, and easy to relate to.

“The ocean often fades from our thoughts, yet it is the vital essence of our planet — the driving force behind all life.

“If the ocean perishes, so does the Earth. The reality is that severe and urgent.”

The organizers of the trail have described it as a “dynamic public art exhibition underscoring the critical need to safeguard our oceans and protect endangered sea turtles.”

The sculptures will remain on display until September, after which they will be auctioned by Tusk to generate funds for marine conservation efforts.
