Suspect in Custody After 85-Year-Old Found Dead in Streatham: Murder Charges Filed

A murder charge has been filed against a man following the discovery of an 85-year-old man deceased at a residence in south London.

Around 1:00 PM on Friday, the London Ambulance Service alerted the authorities to a location on Churchmore Road in Streatham.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the elderly man was declared dead at the scene and exhibited “multiple injuries.”

Amithraz Balgobin, 36, from Lambeth in south London, was charged on Sunday with both murder and possession of drugs and is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on July 7.

The victim’s relatives have been informed of his passing, though his identity remains undisclosed.
