Supermarket Incident: Man Faces Court Over Dagger and Explosives Charges

A man has been charged with the possession of explosives and carrying a dagger in a Sainsbury’s store in his neighborhood.

Ryan Swan was taken into custody on August 19, the same day he is accused of bringing the dagger into the supermarket located on Central Road in Morden, south-west London.

Additionally, he faces allegations of intentionally possessing a quantity of black powder, which is believed to be an explosive material, on or prior to that date.

The 42-year-old resident of Morden attended a session at the Old Bailey through a video link from Wandsworth Prison. Mrs. Justice Cheema-Grubb has scheduled a plea hearing for January 10 at Kingston Crown Court, with a provisional trial set for seven days in November 2026.
