The supercomputer Opta Sports has assessed the chances of FC Krasnodar winning the Russian Premier League for the 2025/2026 season as lower than those of CSKA Moscow. Specifically, it gives Krasnodar a 15.5% chance of victory, while CSKA has a 17% likelihood of triumph. According to Opta Sports, the top favorite for the RPL title is Zenit, with a probability of 39.6%.

In the previous season, Krasnodar emerged as the champions of the Russian Premier League. Zenit from Saint Petersburg secured second place, while CSKA rounded out the top three. Both FC Orenburg and Fakel were directly relegated to the Pari First League; however, Orenburg later replaced Torpedo in the RPL.

The new season of the top tier of Russian football is set to kick off on July 18, 2025, and the tournament will conclude on May 17, 2026.
