Sopin: The Situation with McLeod is Not as Dire for Avangard as It Appears

The general manager of “Avangard,” Alexey Sopin, provided updates regarding the situation with the team’s forward, Michael McLeod.

— What’s the latest on McLeod’s situation?
— Yes, we are awaiting news; I believe we will have information soon.

— It seems the situation is not working in favor of “Avangard.”
— I wouldn’t put it that way. Everything should be resolved before the season begins. At least that’s our hope. We currently see depth enhancement with Fior and McLeod. That would provide us with good depth immediately, — said Sopin in an interview with “Championship” correspondent Lev Lukin.

As a reminder, on July 24, it was announced that former Canadian junior national team players Dillon Dube, Cal Foote, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart, and Michael McLeod have been found not guilty in a sexual assault case. The court’s decision can be appealed within 30 days.
