The goalkeeping coach of the Russian national team, **[Vitaliy Kafanov](https://example.com)**, stated that Paris Saint-Germain’s advance to the Champions League final might alter the plans of the coaching staff regarding the inclusion of goalkeeper **Matvey Safonov** for the matches in June. At the beginning of summer, Valery Karpin’s team will hold friendly matches against Nigeria and Belarus.
“Undoubtedly, the Champions League final can affect our plans when compiling the expanded list for the national team in June. Matvey has had a vibrant yet challenging season. After discussions with the PSG goalkeeping coach and Matvey himself, we will decide if our goalkeeper needs a break at the end of the season,” Kafanov said, as reported by TASS.
The Champions League final, featuring PSG and Inter, will take place on May 31 at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Safonov has been with the Parisian club since last summer, having previously played for Krasnodar.
