Russian Basketball Prodigy: Luka Kaplan on Egor Dyomins NBA Draft Potential

Journalist **Lucas Kaplan** expressed his views on the potential selection of Russian player **Egor Dyomin** by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2025 NBA Draft.

“In my humble opinion, choosing **Egor Dyomin** at the eighth spot would not be a wise decision. It would only amplify the pain of each of Brooklyn’s 56 losses during the 2024/2025 season.

Selecting Dyomin at the 19th pick would be fantastic. Yes, he would become the second most intriguing young talent on the Nets, following whoever is picked at number eight. I would thoroughly enjoy watching the young man read the game, as he certainly has that ability. The draft isn’t an exact science, and this Moscow native has a solid understanding of basketball. Honestly, there’s nothing I would appreciate more than a well-timed extra pass,” Kaplan wrote in his column for NetsDaily.
