Raphaël Varane: Celebrating FA Cup Victory More Than Champions League Triumph

Former defender Raphaël Varane admitted that he celebrated victories in domestic cups with Manchester United more enthusiastically than his triumph in the Champions League with Real Madrid.

“I celebrated winning the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup more than the Champions League… It was absolutely incredible! In England, and especially in Manchester, the passion for football is truly felt—you live it every day. Now, looking back, I have no regrets about moving to Manchester United. It has been an amazing experience.

Why did I leave Real Madrid? After we won the Champions League in 2018, we hardly celebrated. It felt like just another achievement, merely a step forward. We were already focused on winning the next Champions League. Then, that same summer, I won the World Cup. I was ready for new challenges,” Varane’s words were reported by ESPN UK on X.
