Paula Badosa Praises Serena Williams for Honoring Maria Sharapova at Hall of Fame Induction

The 12th-ranked Spanish tennis player, **Paula Badosa**, expressed her thoughts on American tennis star **[Serena Williams](https://www.tennis.com/players/serena-williams)** presenting Russian player **Maria Sharapova** during the induction ceremony into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Badosa shared her reaction on social media, stating, “It’s so inspiring and powerful. Incredible.”

The International Tennis Hall of Fame was established in 1954. Before Sharapova’s induction, only two Russian players, both men, had been inducted: Marat Safin (who was included in 2016) and Yevgeny Kafelnikov (2019).

Sharapova is currently 38 years old. Throughout her professional career, she secured 39 WTA titles, including 36 in singles, five Grand Slam titles, and the 2004 WTA Finals in singles. She officially retired from professional tennis in 2020.
