Mareska Discusses Lavias Injury Following Champions League Draw Against Karabakh

The head coach of Chelsea, **Enzo Mareska**, commented on the injury sustained by the Blues’ midfielder **Romeo Lavia** during the fourth round match of the Champions League group stage against Azerbaijani side Qarabag. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, and the Belgian left the pitch in the eighth minute.

“This is very unfortunate, especially for him. He will be out of action for an extended period. It’s too early to determine the exact nature of the injury, but I hope it’s not serious,” Mareska stated, as quoted by Chelsea’s official website.

Since joining the London club from Southampton in 2023, Lavia has faced a total of eight injuries, resulting in him being sidelined for 495 days and missing 77 games.
