Life Sentence for Man Who Murdered Acquaintance and Disposed of Body in Bathtub

A man who murdered an acquaintance and left the body in a bathtub until neighbors reported a foul odor has received a life sentence.

Marvin Dickson, aged 40, was found deceased at the home of his assailant, Dante Forrest, in north London in September 2024.

Authorities discovered Mr. Dickson after forcing their way into a flat in Wood Green that had been barricaded and locked.

At the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 36-year-old Forrest was handed a minimum sentence of 22 years for the “violent and brutal” crime.

During the proceedings, the jury viewed CCTV footage showing Mr. Dickson walking with Forrest and carrying a takeaway pizza box in the early hours of September 10.

This pizza box was later found covered in Mr. Dickson’s blood within the flat.

Blood was also detected on Forrest’s clothing and shoes, while the living area exhibited stains indicating Mr. Dickson was killed there before being moved to the bathtub.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from blunt force trauma to the head and had also sustained stab wounds.

In a statement, Mr. Dickson’s family expressed that he would be “forever loved, missed, and remembered.”
