In Novosibirsk, the “Sibir Arena” hosted another match of the Kontinental Hockey League’s regular season, featuring the local team Sibir and Omsk’s Avangard. This highly anticipated game ended with a victory for the Novosibirsk club, who triumphed with a score of 4-2.

The scoring opened on the eighth minute when Avangard forward Andrew Poturalski found the net with assists from Michael McLeod and Konstantin Okulov. In the final minute of the first period, Semyon Koshelev equalized the score. Just a minute into the second period, Anton Kosolapov put Sibir ahead with a goal, assisted by Taylor Beck, who marked his first point since returning to the Novosibirsk team. On the 33rd minute, Koshelev netted his second goal of the evening. In the dying moments of the second period, Konstantin Okulov reduced the deficit for Avangard. Chase Priskie sealed the game for Sibir with an empty-net goal in the final seconds.

As a result, Sibir claimed victory in the first Sibir derby of the season. The teams are scheduled to face each other three more times during the current season.
