Kirsty Coventrys First Remarks on Inclusion of Russian Athletes as New IOC President

The new president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), **Kirsty Coventry**, has addressed the issue of allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions for the first time.

“We did not discuss this during this executive committee meeting, but it will be on our agenda in the future. We have another meeting in September and another in December, and this topic will be considered,” Coventry was quoted as saying by “RIA Novosti Sport,” referencing her remarks at a press conference following the executive committee session.

It is worth noting that Coventry took office as IOC president on Monday, June 23. It was previously reported that she might share her views on the participation of Russian athletes in competitions during a press conference after today’s executive committee meeting on June 26.
