Khabib Reveals Why He Doesnt Consider Himself the Greatest MMA Fighter of All Time

A 36-year-old member of the UFC Hall of Fame and former lightweight champion (up to 155 lbs), Russian fighter **Khabib Nurmagomedov** has shared his thoughts on why he does not see himself as the greatest fighter in mixed martial arts history.

“I do not consider myself that way, nor have I ever. It’s never even crossed my mind. I can think of myself as one of the best, someone who has achieved a lot in this sport, perhaps in the top 10 or top 15. But the greatest of all time – no. Before I won the championship belt, it was Fedor [Emelianenko] who dominated, and now I rank him and [Jon] Jones at the top,” Nurmagomedov commented in an interview on the YouTube channel adam zubayraev.

It’s worth recalling that “The Eagle” competed in his final match at UFC 254, held on October 24, 2020, on Yas Island near Abu Dhabi (UAE). His opponent at the time was American Justin Gaethje, the interim UFC lightweight champion. The fight ended with Nurmagomedov winning by submission in the second round, marking his 29th victory in his career. Following the fight, Khabib announced his retirement from MMA.
