Kasper Ruud Reflects on Withdrawal from Basel Tournament in Post

The 11th-ranked tennis player in the world, Norwegian star Kasper Ruud, shared a post following his withdrawal from the ATP 500 tournament in Basel, Switzerland. Ruud retired after the first set of his quarterfinal match against Spanish player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, which concluded with a score of 7-6 (7-1) in favor of the Spaniard.

“Not the finish I was hoping for in Basel, but congratulations to Alejandro. I apologize to the fans — sometimes you just have to listen to your body. It’s time to recover and get ready for Paris,” Ruud mentioned on one of his social media accounts.

Kasper Ruud is scheduled to participate in the Masters event in Paris, taking place from October 27 to November 2. The current champion of the tournament is German player Alexander Zverev.
