Jedin Dzeko Reflects on Fiorentinas Struggles After AEK Match: We Dont Deserve to Wear This Jersey

The Fiorentina forward, **Edin Džeko**, commented on his team’s performance following their match in the fourth round of the group stage of the Conference League against the Greek side AEK (0-1).

“I didn’t expect this kind of match. We had been training really well, and the coach prepared us tactically. The first half was somewhat better; we created a few chances, but it became harder to score afterwards. There’s something off with us. One could even say we’re falling short and don’t deserve to wear this jersey, and that’s okay. However, when I’m playing at home, I want the fans to support me rather than boo every time I lose the ball. We need to get through this together; mere dissatisfaction isn’t enough. It’s fine to boo us at the end of the match, but during the game, we need more backing. It’s true we aren’t performing well, but we require extra support,” Džeko expressed to Sky Sport Italia.

Fiorentina has accumulated six points, placing them at 17th in the Conference League group stage standings. In Serie A, the team currently sits second to last, in 19th place, also with six points.
