A yellow weather alert has been announced for certain regions of England, predicting wind gusts that could reach approximately 70mph (113km/h).

Storm Benjamin is anticipated to bring wet and blustery weather to Eastern England, including London, the South East, parts of the East Midlands, and sections of Yorkshire.

This warning from the Met Office is effective from 03:00 BST until 23:59 on Thursday.

Meteorologists indicate that gusts of around 60mph (97km/h) are “fairly likely” to occur over a broad area, with even stronger winds exceeding 70mph possible along coastal regions.

The Met Office has warned that these conditions may lead to extended travel times or disruptions to road, rail, and air services.

Additionally, the public should be prepared for potential damage to structures, power outages, and a slight risk of injuries caused by flying debris.
