A runner has been hospitalized following an incident where a tree fell near the River Thames in south-west London.

Emergency services were summoned to the Thames Path close to Barn Elms Boathouse in Barnes around 07:20 BST, where they attended to the injured female.

It has been reported that one of the coaches from the local rowing club also assisted her. The pathway is currently partially obstructed as efforts to remove the tree are underway.

A representative from the London Ambulance Service noted: “An ambulance was dispatched, and we treated a woman before transporting her to the hospital.”
