Luxury retailer Harrods has alerted its customers that their personal data may have been compromised due to a breach in its IT systems.
The company revealed that details such as names and contact information of certain online customers were accessed through a third-party provider’s systems.
In an email dispatched to customers on Friday evening, Harrods characterized the breach as an “isolated incident,” emphasizing that no passwords or payment information were involved.
In their official statement, the company noted, “The third-party provider has confirmed that this is an isolated incident that has been contained, and we are collaborating closely with them to ensure all necessary measures are implemented. We have informed all pertinent authorities.”
